e-Books
I have assembled some public-domain books into Microsoft e-Reader format.
Here is a link to the Microsoft e-Reader page. Microsoft e-Reader is free: install it, and you can read the books.
Here are the books.
- The Didache - an early Christian church guide, much like the Missal or Book of Common Prayer.
- The Letter of Polycarp to the Philippians, translated by J.B. Lightfoot. Polycarp was the Bishop of Ephesus at the end of the first century. A Greek, he converted to Christianity by the guidance of the Apostle John, whose friend and student he was.
- Lombard Street, by Walter Bagehot. Bagehot's classic description of the mid-nineteenth century London financial markets.
- Co. Aytch, by Sam Watkins. A Confederate soldier's memoir of the American Civil War.
- Democracy in America, by Alexis de Tocqueville. (University of Virginia maintains a great website about this book.)
